This home was a unique and rewarding challenge for Outside In Construction. It was designed by Alchemy Architects, a Minnesota-based firm that specializes in custom weeHouse designs. The main shell structure was built and assembled by Bensonwood of New Hampshire. Outside In Construction collaborated with the clients from the beginning, installing an over 800-foot driveway and extensive underground utilities that required substantial amount of blasting and earth moving.
The home has a highly insulated multi-layered shell construction on a multi-type foundation, an almost flat roof with a wrap-around roof-top deck. The interior has large open concept areas with no visible supports or walls, creating a seamless integration of kitchen, dining and living spaces. The lakeside has expansive glass windows and easy access to the outdoors. The kitchen is a modern galley-style with all the latest appliances and a separate wet bar. The living room has a sleek gas fireplace with a hot rolled steel finish.
The lakeside of the home has a custom heated pool with an automatic cover and a large in ground hot tub, surrounded by a stamped concrete patio that creates an outdoor living space. The patio has snow-melting radiant heating around the pool. The house also has a private guest house with a bedroom, bathroom, laundry, and kitchen/living/dining area with a cozy private covered deck on the lakeside. The guest house is connected to the main house by a hybrid sunroom that has 16-foot Nanawall doors on both sides and full-width automatic screens, allowing the sunroom to transform into an outdoor living area in minutes.
The second floor has a master suite with a private fireplace, access to the rooftop balcony, walk-in closet and large bathroom with a custom steam tile shower and soaking tub overlooking the water. There are also two bunk/bedrooms that have access to the balcony with views of the pool and lake below, and a private bathroom.
The architect and owners wanted a home that was efficient, modern and low-impact, blending in with the natural landscape and waterfront, while minimizing the disturbance to nature, wildlife and neighbors. Outside In Construction worked diligently with both parties to ensure that this goal was met and delivered the client their dream getaway spot in the beautiful Wolfeboro area, where they can enjoy years of memories with their family and friends.
